hi all,
with the patient and kind help of a fellow named andrew i've been able to narrow down a surging problem with a sierra efi setup i have on a mk2 rs2000.
firstly i have to say that i bought the car with the setup already installed and it's been a learning curve for me.
when i start the car cold, it will idle at about 1200-1500 revs and progressively rise until it reaches 1800-1900 (hot). in this state it surges and revs by itself occasionally while idling.
now, if i switch the wires around that go into the solenoid on the icv, it will run at 1000rpm all day long and not play up at all. the only catch is, it needs to be hot for it to run properly. starting it cold; it will stall.
one other thing i'd like to note is that when i've taken the icv off and looked into the two holes in the throttle body, i've noticed one of them is blocked off completely, by what appears to be metal. is this normal?
any help or suggestions from someone who is familar with the sierra efi would be much appreciated.
daniel.
