Bolting On Heater Bubble

Obvious rust spot. Thinking of bolting on so that leaves can be removed over time and fresh sealer applied.

Has anybody done this?? Not sure how much, if at all, of a problem leakage will be around holes? I am thinking of using fibre or rubber washers or welding the nuts under the dash all the way round (might be too fiddly).

use nut-serts to hold it back on, no need to weld anything. I also doubt that it will leak to much to cause an issue.

Make sure the category rules you're going to race under allow it.

Your other option is to make an 'inspection plate' that can be bolted on off from under the dash.... This is probably more work but less detectable..

that last mod has also crossed my mind. I sort of came to the conclusion that there is too much risk of sucking air from the engine bay into the cabin when using the fan.??

will look at class rules. cannot see that there would be a problem.....no point asking those useless lovely people at CAMS though

is a nut-sert the same as a rivnut??

If you spot weld small bolt heads to the lip of the plenum chamber you can bolt it on and from the top (inner bay) it looks factory finish. Just came across this idea the other when I went to a Swimming Pool Chlorinator maker. They do this with their cells. Great idea. I will give it a go.
