Converting MK1 to round headlights?

Howdy all,
Could anyone help with advice as to what i need to abtain to convert a MK1 Esky to round headlight? and where would be the best place to get parts. I really like this better than the oval type.

When I did our car I filled in the whole headlight recess by bolting in a pce of 3mm aluminium (using some thin card or paper to create a template first). Then I put the round headlight grille on the car and used that as a template to mark the position of the holes for the round headlight tubs. At least that's how I remember it went....it was a long time ago!!! Somebody may have a much easier way to do it. Especially if you do not have a grille yet to use as a guide.

From what I understand that is exactly what was done by the factory to the earliest round headlight grilled cars. As i had to repair the two corners of the front panel I fabricated flat sections with a folded lip and a hole cut in the middle for the headlight, welded it on and smoothed it out Woks fine. I also believe you can by these sections as repair parts from the Uk with round holes ready to tke a cortina or capri round headlight bucket, and mechanisms. I seem to remember some wiring needed to be cut and modified/extended to reach the light terminals as they are at the top of the bucket not the back like the squares. Dont forget a Ok grille is expensive and mint ones are horrendously expensive.
You can also get a complete front panel with round holes from the UK for about 50 pounds, but shipping is expensive. There are a few floating arounf Aus and come up every now and then.
