I always use sika flex over the top to both seal the seam, and make it look neat. Just make sure you put it where you want it as once it goes off it is a sh!t to remove.

I saw a display board at a local crash supply shop showing different types of Sika Flex. Any idea which you use? Not sure what teh differences are...

Sika does have a special seam sealer, but it's pretty hard to find in your local auto store or hardware. An auto refinisher supply store is your best bet. 233 is a number that come up in searches but I can't recall if it's the one I used.

Edit, flap discs are brilliant for cleaning up welds, much better finish than a grinding disc

I agree. I use an 80 flap wheel whenever possible but there just was not room for these bits. Will research Sika Flex.

There are a number of Sika Flex types, there is a specific automotive one available in either white or black. If you have hassels locating it ring Obeico truck bodies in Tamworth, they build all of the aluminium Telstra service bodies and glue them together with it.

Seam sealer is grey
Sikaflex is black and white.

I seamed sealed my 4 link boxes (pic's tomorrow - or later today if you're east coast).

My seam sealer is yellow!

Bunnings paint section sells Sikaflex. I've used

227 - auto seam sealant
252 - structural adhesive

Bought some Sikaflex 227 from the Adelaide Protec head office yesterday. 3 tubes @ $16.95ea which seams to be the cheapest I have seen in Adelaide!

I am sure I will need to buy several more tubes.

227 from Bunnings was $15 there where other cheaper brands as well
