Sorry Roger, just back from the workshop chasing an intermittent electrical issue on one of my cars [unusual on a twin cam with pommie electrics :roll:

] and I noticed my '71 Gt 1600 has the GT style alloy mirror. One mirror on the drivers side only. It also has low back twin cam style seats yet the rest of the interior is GT 1600. Might have been built right on the change of model.

RE: MIRROR - just learnt something new. I've only seen photo's of the standard plastic Falcon mirror or the Cortina Sport mirror on the green one in the photo. Mine have one of each, but like most things, the metal one could have been one of the many options available.

RE: SEATS - Those are definitely non genuine cloth seats Roger. Only came in 'basket weave' vinyl on front and back. Low back seats were standard equipment, and high back were an optional extra. Not 100% sure, but the safety law changed regarding low back seats around 1971, so they weren't compulsory but just an option extra, as mine, a 08/70 and 02/71 are both low backs.

The ADR for high backs came in in '72. We had a '72 V6 Capri with high backs and dad's (very late model) XY ute came factory with a high back bench.

A friend of mine owns this car. Its been changed to round headlights but is still basically quite an original car. It has the Falcon mirror and bonet catches.
