pinto wont start!
Posted: Sat Feb 24, 2007 9:30 amalright motor is in and everything is hooked up right now went trough 2 sets of points thanks to a mate (diesel mechanics?)
have set crank and cam timing marks and rotor button lines up with mark on distributor body.
i have no idea what the cam is (supposed to 31/72) so i have tried advancing the cam with the following results.
0' advanced backfires fire ball through top of carby
2' advanced " "
4' advanced not yet tried
6' advanced not yet tried
8' advanced nothing motor turns over but doesn't start and no fireball.
can anyone help me with where i should set the cam/ditributor timing so that i can get it to start?
do pinto's usually work as flame throwers?
