hey i was wondering if someone could help me i have a 1979 ford escort mk2 and in it i have a 1.6 kent engine.. i have just recently purchased a 2l pinto and i was wondering am i am able to use the Extractors from my old 1.6 in the pinto? And also wondering about the fan and fan pully can i use the old one..

Hi Daniel,

Welcome to the forum. Unfortunately the 2L is a different beast to the old Kent motor and there'll be virtually nothing that you can use from the 1600 on the 2L. To start with the inlet and exhausts are the other way around on a 2L so will you need 2L extractors etc. Also the wiring for the alternator will need extending as it sits on the opposite side. Best to look at some photos of a 2L engine bay against a 1600 one and the differences will be pretty obvious.

There's plenty of helpful advice on here so don't be scared to ask lots of questions.
