Thanks Danny
Had at look at arp web site - 6 to 6 1/2 thou stretch, 40 ftlb with arp lube.
I guess it would be about 50-55 ftlb with motor oil lube

If you haven't got any of the lube I would be only using the stretch method but I would going to at least .0065" than .0060"

Update fyi
Light machine oil lube - up to 55 ftlb & only .004" stretch
20w50 lube - .006" stretch @ 55-60 ftlb
I lubed threads & nut/cap mating surface, had socket clear of cap & new deflecting beam wrench
Imagine dry threads & socket jammed against cap!
Cheers

Where did those specs come from as ARP's look nothing like that as it will be with either ARP Lube or 30wt motor oil and the stretch wil be down to the decimal point and more than .006"

I probably didn't didn't explain properly
I was measuring stretch with micrometer, but checking torque while doing it.
Tried machine oil, but had only stretched .004" when up to 55 ftlb!
Tried motor oil & stetched .006" at 55 ftlb. Loosened off & the bolt returned to original length.
Retorqued to 55ftlb & .006" stretch - good enough for me & didn't have to buy special lube
(55 ftlb is roughly what arp site says torque would be if using 30 wt oil)
ARP site says .006 - .0065", so I took them to .006" - but I'm sure a low powered car like mine which I only rev to 6 - 6.5k would be fine at a lot less!
Basically I think this is all bull. I've not had problems with oe bolts at 32 ftlb
Cheers
