Hi all, I have a set of forged TRW pistons and want to replace the rings on them. Does any body know if standard rings would fit, as in go to Repco and ask for a set of Pinto piston rings, or do I need to fit the correct rings to suit the piston. Any help would be great!

Ok, just measured them and they are the same thickness factory rings.
Any one have any suggestions for a brand of rings that can take a fair beating (high rpm, high boost)??

You would be better off using a set of Total Seal Gapless rings for them but be warned they aren't cheap

How did you end up? Do you have any part numbers? I am building a turbo Pinto with +30 TRW's and will be putting new rings in. Anyone know what sort of grunt a turbo Pinto makes? I bought mine in bits and its got a ported head with big stainless valves and an unknown cam. Don't know yet how I'm going to dial it in.

i know squish might have gone out the back door, but I'm making the best with what I've got. The pistons are old and on there way out, didn't want to run them but had to becauss of lack of $$, there 1mm down the bore. I want to run it for a little while then pull it down anyway, so if it's not making power I'll get some new fancy pistons for it then. bit of a suck it and see.
