Hi guys,

Chasing a Mk2 Escort world cup cross member and pinto mounts to suit.

Prefer new but would consider 2nd hand if in good condition.

If new would prefer to deal with someone direct in Australia rather than go through any OS related pain.

In addition to the query above, I have found that both Gartrac and Rally Design do world cup cross members.

The benefit with the Rally design version is that they offer a member with the original rack position - Gartrac do not.

I rang Gartrac who told me that I would have to lengthen my steering column to use their cross member. They also offer lengthened columns as it turns out. Wow!

Does anyone have any comments about either product? Is a lengthened column really necessary with a lowered rack? This is not something I really want to do.

Any comments gratefully received.

GRP4 Fabrications make a nice WCXM.
If you plan to rally the car use the lowered rack mounts.

If you ask Gartrac nicely they'll make a standard mount cross member for you

Do you have any comments on the installation of a WCXM with lowered rack mounts - does it fit straight up or do I need to consider steering column lengths as per Gartrac?

Do any other modifications apply?

Unless you're going to raise the ride heights and run in gravel spec I wouldn't use a lowered rack mount crossmember due to bumpsteer
Gartrac made my standard mount crossmember for me and we still had to lower the pivot on the tie rod ends

Dazza I have a WCXM I have left over. Its a standard rack height.
