Goodluck finding an available engine here, even if you found one.
You don't need huge power for Targa Tassie. The road base is rough and traction is always an issue. 240hp+

improved production & the like
i do come from a background of
group g rally cars
& sports sedans etc
even group c ( production touring)
these category rules were more consistent & sensible
than current regs
ps
would love to see a big h/p escort

Posted: Mon Jan 23, 2012 9:33 pmCurrent Targa regs permit the engine to be increased up to 17% and supp regs provide freedom for heads (in the most modified class). So a 2.3 Pinto with a Warrior/Holbay/YB head is possible so high 200's Hp would be available? Restricted to 15 x 7 rims though.

Can go +/- 2" in width over standard rim width and +/-2" diameter. Aspect ratio is also restricted based on age but most Escorts could go to 40's if you can find such a tyre. Doesn't make for much rubber for a higher power motor.
I have a 4.88 diff although not that high a power level.
