Interested to hear from anybody selling Minilite style wheels for an Escort (4x108??). Need 15x7's or 15x7.5's (if such a size exists).

Might consider other rim styles also.......

(No I cannot afford a set of new Panasports...............................)

Contact Minilite directly. Ship from UK. I wouldn't use any other than them if you can't afford Panasports.

If you cannot accept that I take advice but then do MY project MY way then dont reply to my questions.

I dont have to explain my reasons for doing certain things but I have on many occasions.

Those few negative people who have responded to this thread can just get fucked (enter the moderator at this point...............)

Good on you Glenn. Some people can be a right pain in the a**e if you don't want to do something their way.

Danny, I respect your opinions as I know you have been there and done that. That is why I ask for them so often. At the end of the day though I will always do what makes me happy and what satisfies my engineering curiosity. This is a hobby to me not some all out racer that has to be spot on in order for me to win that trophey (would be nice though!! :D ).

I have built this car well. Even my dry sump system that you so despise will be a great setup (I even bought a new Peterson oil tank on your suggestion!). I can oly assume this is where you believe I have wasted money in buying a Weaver pump rather than a Gerotor pump?

Please keep giving me your input but dont get so upset if I do not or CANNOT follow it (I can just about afford a set of Performance rims even though I know they are shite, I know they are heavy and I know I will want to, and will, replace them later).

Mickas...rack off. Since when was re-wiring a car that has clapped out wiring such a sin? Pls dont answer....

My original question was asking if anybody had a set of rims. Can this thread get back to that please?

MK1 Oz.... If it is a hobby, why rush things and fit cheap @arse wheels... Do the beautiful car justice and put someting nice on it...

Why dry sump a hobby car :?:

I dry sumped it as it is something I always have wanted to do. I killed my Dad's tarmac rally car out at Mallala once due to oil surge issues and since then I have wanted to dry sump for peace of mind. I know it isnt necessary but I wanted the challenge.

When I say hobby, I dont mean that the car is not intended to be driven in anger. In fact I am trying to find a way to enter Classic Targa Adelaide this year (partly hence the reason for trying to get it finished sooner rather than later). By hobby I mean that I am not out for first place.

The average person would not tell the difference between minilite style wheels and the weight saving of the Panasports would be wasted on my driving ability.

I did find a couple of ebay ads in teh US for Panasports at US$220. Sounds too good to be true but then of course the freight on top would prolly be huge and bring the price back to what other people have brought them to Oz for.

I might even put a totally different style wheel on it altogether anyway (although I doubt it :D )

Danny I think you said the key word in your last post to myself........priorities. I fully hear what you are saying and have always said (at least you are consistent in what you say!!!!).

My last word on this topic is that my priority list is differnent to yours. Both are valid though.

Right, I want my thread back now please....... thankyoublue.gif
