Have seen a lot of people using the Nissan Patrol Turbo Diesel scoop. Two different options available, GU or GQ Patrol scoop.

Another option, XW GT scoop.

And the generic type.

thanks
I have seen these on ebay but they are to big
the falcon one is 750mm long
I am after something about 450 mm x 100-150mm
I am trying to get cold air to my carbies
it is a 1600 with twin delortos
cam
the ones in the burtons catalogue are also to big
I am after something that looks subtle
thanks

If you want something in that particular size, and don't find what you're looking for, you could get the GU patrol scoop, mark out centre, take 100mm sections off from both sides of centre, join the 2 parts together with fibreglass resin, sand and paint, and you'd have a 450mmX 150mm scoop.

if I could fibreglass and paint I would do that
but they are not my strong points
I am sure I could find someone to do it
thanks

From my grade 12 physics and aero class I dont this style of thing actually works that well as the intake mouth of the scoop is smack in the middle of boundary layer airflow.
They will work to a point simply because you can seal the carb intakes to the back of the scoop and it simply sucks in what air it can from outside.
I would think a better bet would be a proper NACA duct with ducting to the airbox. You can buy them in a variety of sizes from burtons, racer etc or you can make your own, there are proper drawings in one of the early Alan Staniforth race car source books, I think the Carrol Smith books had the specs as well.
