Long mani for mid range vs free flowing for top end. Just can't fathom all those bends not killing everything

Yes you would think so. But then again, the other limitations were that you ran a standard head (with 44/38 valves but NO porting) and 10:1 compression, so they all used to hit a wall at around 170hp. That being the case the manifold was probably not the lowest common denominator in terms of limiting performance.
