I'm heading down for it. Not competing this year due to a lack of Navigator though , but did win a trip that includes airfares, hire car, a ride in a car at the media day, accommodation and VIP tickets.

I was thinking that finally I might have one up on Mr King, but realised that the Otago Rally is on the same weekend, and no doubt he will be heading off to that and will post some pics with Hayden Padden and himself sitting in the BDA Hayden's due to drive or similar!

I bought my ticket earlier today, should be good.

I am not sure whether to just do the Saturday or to do the Sunday as well.

I'm thinking just Friday night and Saturday to spectate at the rally. Sunday is much the same unless you avoid the speccie points and head down to a few road blocks.

I'd like to take my wife to a winery or something on the Sunday before flying home. It'll be our 1st weekend alone without the kids, our eldest was born in 1999!

Might catch you there Damion, Mick? Maybe a catch up on Saturday night if you guys are staying over the coast? Kings beach Tavern is good!

Well..ready for bed after a busy weekend!!

Slept in the Cruiser on Friday night with the rain belting down. we were in a Quarry just outside Kandanga at the start of SS3 Goanna.....woke up Saturday at 5am or should I say opened my eyes because sleep is far to inaccurate for it!! Not doing that again....we 40+ year olds need our orthapedic mattresses!

Met the rest of the stage setup persons and proceeded to our Roadblock for the day....i was a little disappointed because it was on a straight but hey ho you win some you lose some. Watched the classics through and boy does that Bates Toyota Celica sound good and he drives it well, pity there weren't more of them though. Next were the Asia Pacific Championship cars which apart from the first 4 were pretty so,so. I was already noticing that these first 3 stages were taking out alot of cars as there were alot of gaps where cars should have been. The ARC cars were next then the QRC, the All Comers rally and finally the "Side by Side" class which would have been excellent BUT they are all Auto's which sound rubbish IMHO. Why don't these bike engined off road golf carts get bike gearboxes so we can here the sequential changes instead of the high pitched drone all the way round the forest?

After a short break it was all on again for SS8 a rerun of the previous accept the Golf Buggies thank god! We finished up at around 6pm and made it back on the Gold Coast for the Reds v Brumbies match at ahem 7.50pm including a fuel stop. The Landcruiser was buzzing down the highway!

Spent today cleaning it all and then watched my son play Rugby in the afternoon.

Now its time for another good kip....sorry Tanz I completely forgot about the Nut..did you leave it with anyone?

I'm hoping next year I'll be doing it in the Escort...
