My favourite tyre wall, nearly had a silver phase 2 added to it's list of victims.
I was standing on the fence post over the road David. Was that you in the hi visability jacket?

The guy with the visibiliy hacket was the photographer (Shifting Focus). I was at the flagpoint under the umbrella about 50 metres up from him.

The Silver XW was later black flagged - among other things he was sideways coming into the pits on the slowdown lap - he missed the entrance and came back along the main straight. He was then told to pack his car up and go home.

The same spot nearly claimed a couple of silver BA/BF Falcons.

Looked like a great day, I owned an XA GT back in the '70s when no one really knew what they would be in years to come,
