The boys including Grant Walker were really having a ball...

we were down the other end of the super special stage infront of the tractor shed & the view was great as they slide round the bottom loop

Luv the sound of Reid's...thought the other BD's sound like they have filled their exhausts with grit?

Agree Mark. It seems like it's due to different exhaust set ups and I prefer Stewies too.

yeah but id love to know how hard portman revs his thing
admittedly stewies sounds gruntier

I have to disagree guys! I think Portmans car sounds much more like the way Vatanen used to drive his cars. Thats does it for me!!

My understanding is that Stewart Reid's is from and that the Portman and Walker cars are from NZ.
Grant Walkers was built by I'm told.
I don't know where Geoff Portman's was built.
Not sure if that explains the difference in sounds?
Maybe different exhaust philosophies exist in UK and NZ?

Portmans is from Palmside I'm told by a very good source

another thing to note is portman beat stui on a few stages.
are we talking about local knowledge / car / or driver ???
i bet stuis car cost lots more $$$$ than portmans palmside car ???

It was Deane's own car he rallied for sometime

Grant has really come back into the sport in a big way, even dragged in a very old pit crew along the way - lol
