RS Motorsport :: Classic Speed Restored

Just an observation I've made since joining the forum. The policing of off topic posts by general members is extreme to say the least. I've been the member of many forums over the years, off topic posts have been mostly positive. Is there any particular reason it's policed so heavily here? I couldn't find anything about it in the guidleines.

I don't think we "police" the off topics discussions unless they turn nasty and people start with personal attacks. Probably we're more observant of them but that's about it.

I am not sure about the policies of this forum regarding off topic posts (I have read all policies, terms and conditions in depth..... ) but they can be rather frustrating when trying to gather information/assistance only to have the thread go off on an unrelated tangent.

Having said that, minor diversions and banter can be fun and interesting but needs to be monitored and corrected by the original poster if it gets too much.

I ve heard this forum is not very active, or least thats the mail Im getting.

So peoples don't come here as often or not at all.

Maybe we need some more build threads, how bout it, chaps.

I'd love to see more build threads like roger said, hopefully some work will get done on my car soon and i can post that up (waiting for other projects to be done isn't fun), it never seems to be a problem when everyone goes off topic usually there ends up with more information about something which can come in handy.

As much as this forum is an exceptional source of experience, advice and technical knowledge it is also, for a lot of participants, a bit of a social get together for those with similar interests. This will inevitably leads to some threads getting Hijacked. The thread will often wander off on a tangent but normally on another Small Ford related topic. It seems that the person who started the thread invariably gets the answer they were looking for. I agree with Nev. "As long as nobody loses an eye"...........

As far as Electric guitars go, that was Danny's thread to start with and i'm surprised he hasn't started his own Web Board on the subject!!!

but to be honest...what are we on about here...a lack of intrest in the question or a lack of knowledge for an answer?
I agree with OZ in trying to get answers, but I find this Forum one of the best for quality answers and judged opinions.
Other than the SE QLD clique its relatively open and all inclusive.
I like it!

As for cold...its effing summer here and im in 2 jumpers as I refuse to acknolwledge cold during summer and ignife the warming radiators.
