Progress so far. New Hilux/hiace diff housing has been manufactured, and painted. New bearings machined hubs, new long studs, new bearings to diff.
Rear wheel arches tubbed, fiberglass arches bonded and blended into the body, rear half of car resprayed awaiting rubbing and polishing
Boot stripped and resprayed in gloss white. Bonnet to be resprayed, boot lid resprayed and polished.

New koni front struts manufactured and painted. ready to be installed. Adjustable lower control arms, rack end extensions and reinforced and relocated lower control arm inner pivot point.

Just waiting on front gaurds.

Then to top it all off on saturday I lowered the car off the jack and the door swung open and landed on the jack stand. resulting in a large bend to the bottom edge of the door as the door took the weight of the car. So now the drivers door needs repainting. Only part not the be painted is the passenger door and front half of roof and front apron.

Re jack - doesn't it just sh!t you when things like that happen. Still it could be worse....

True story! Friend of mine with a Grp C Escort runs a smash repair business on Sydney's north shore. Big shop dealing in prestige cars like Mercs etc. Anyway was short of space so put the Esky up on the hoist. Was all going fine until car was nearly all the way up, when it started to roll forward. Forgot the handbrake didn't we.

Car fell nose first then rolled onto the RHS.

Was not a happy camper that day

M8, those struts look great, can you give any info on where you got all parts? how much did it cost? are they Capri struts?
I'm looking at doing this too but have no idea where to start.

Where did u get the adjustable TCA's? make them yourself?

The last photo are rack extensions. They screw ont the steering rack ends and the tie rod ends screw onto them to widen the rack by 150mm to suit the bubble arches.
The struts are MK2. I have heavily modified Mk2 hubs and didnt want to modify Capri hubs to suit. Plus the Capri struts are much heavier.
The shock absorbers are RX7 series 4 Yellows, the threaded tube and spring platforms are Made for Koni locally purchased through the local Koni reseller.
The strut inserts cost $495 the pair and the coilovers cost $200 for two sets. Springs range from 150-200 a pair
The arms are standard ford items cut and lengthened with an adjustable threaded section from the UK costing about $90 landed, welded with care and plated either side.

Polished and reassembled
