Progress on my RS

Hi all,
I thought it was about time that i started a thread on my 1980 MK2 RS2000,
This one is my third RS and my second white one (not bad for a 24 year old).
The shell was stripped to bare metal to check for rust, but to my surprise there was none to speak of. A fresh coat of paint and the reassemble began.
The engine is a 2.1 litre. This was achieved be offset grinding the crank joining up to Celica GT4 rods and WRX STI pistons. We had to knock a bit off the pistons to make them a flat top.
At first I was looking to run 45mm webers but ideas of efi got in the way, I have ended up with efi hardware throttle bodies run by a Motec m4 unit. I’m running a twin coil wasted spark system.
Gearbox will be a type 9 with new quaife gear set. (Waiting on rebuild, this has been delayed due to how cold it gets in my garage at night).
Tran-x plate type lsd also waiting to go in along with a 4.1 crown wheel and pinion.
Brakes are Hispec items along with a bias peddle box. Suspension is dealt with by 2.5 inch adjustable coil overs with Gaz gold inserts and 250pound kings, the rear has gaz gold shocks with reversed eye kings.
That’s where the car is at; I am looking at having it finished sometime early in the new year.
Any comments including criticisms are welcome.
Cheers, Dom

Small update; I have fitted solid alloy fuel lines under the car and made up braided ones in the engine bay (Speedflow has a fair chunk of my money now). Have also mounted catch tank on drivers side inner guard. PeterM made me same spacers for the radiator so it now sits further forward, engine fan spacing is a lot better now.
Next job is to make up the wiring loom for the efi.

Fitted the nose cone today. Also started to put the hood lining in.
What are peoples thoughts on white or black wheels?

Out of those 2 options, black, but I'd prefer the looks of a shadow chrome. Black sometimes looks like it's not there at all.

Agree that the dark centres look good and that black does hide the actual design of the centre. Anthracite might be good.

I'm just refitting my efi hardware throttle bodies at the moment, I'll post some pics if you like.

Cheers,

Cam

Steve

I see you like yellow wheels. Why don't you like orange panel van's then??

Engine is in!
Battery has been moved to the boot, all the wiring and fuel lines are finished.
Rear disk brake conversion is well under way and should be in the car over the weekend.
All the glass is in the car, many thanks to my old man for helping with that, it was a bit of a daunting experience for someone who has never done it before. The car is actually starting to look like a car.
Here are some photo's of the updates.

Wired in a brake fail for the rear brakes. The lines were a pain to make but I think they look pretty good.

the white Simmons on my car are up for sale if anyone is interested.
They are 14 by 6 with 100mm backspace. They have 4 good tyres on them.
Looking for around $1200.
