Next order arrived today from Summit. Replenished the fittings and pipe clamp supplies as well as delivering the gauges, fuel pump and filters.

I dug up some scap bar from work today that I'll drop off at the machine shop along with the drawings for the strut tops. Need to draw up the brackets for the fuel tank/pump/filter mounting.
I can see some nice laps ahead for us together late Feb. If i can help with parts, it would be my pleasure to see you run. Buying bulk shiny bits should make you keen?
You should buy a lotto ticket, after finding the well under the tank in such great condition. Goodluck with it. Mark
Sometimes, usually only from runoff so it goes away in a few hours when it eases up raining. Was about 300mm at the deepest spot when I came through thismorning. Wouldn't drive a car through it though.
I found out about Summit probably 5 or so years ago and usually put in a couple of orders a year. I find that their website is one of the best around for parts ordering, especially when it comes to hose and fittings. The last order I put through was on tuesday evening (about 11pm) and it was delivered on the next monday am.
A bit more progress on the car today, removed the axles and rear brakes and cleaned up the gearbox crossmember. Also machined down the new bushes and tubes (Mk2) to fit the new rear springs.
Another thing we found out thisafternoon is that a kent 1600 sump is slightly different to a 1300, apparently to suit the longer throw crank. Should be able to panel beat the 1300 one into submission, unless someone has a 1600 sump lying around they don't need anymore...
gee scott is this pic of the lounge room with the compessor creeping into the kitchen ?? you have been taking notice of my workshop handy hints at least the beer fridge is close while yu are workin on the escort keep goin you are doin ok
Thanks Steve, just off to the right is the laundry and a bit further to the right is the kitchen (with beer fridge & rum storage). I got a big 600mm drum fan that blows the aircon from the kitchen into the garage, noisy, but very handy these past few days...
great build scott good to see the mk1 is coming along nicely keep the photos coming it will be interesting to see how it runs next month compaired to driving the mk2
Thanks michael, are we going to see your car there too??
Huge thanks to Gary for a helping hand today, we managed to get the rear bulkhead installed as well as removing the bonnet, rear glass and heater unit. I also got the rear springs in, I just need to get a few new locknuts and it's done. Credit to Gary for making and installing the rear panels on the rather crooked frame that Mr Ford supplied us with.

Also decided on a location for the fuel tank, need to make some brackets for it and the fuel pump/filter.
Pleased to be able to help Scott. I think the top of the bulkhead was more than 10mm lower on the driver's side than the passengers side. Lucky we made some cardboard templates!!

I made the bracket for the fuel pump and filter today as well as a couple of fuel lines. I decided to use Aeroquip's Starlite Racing Hose over stainless braided hose this time and I'm glad I did. It cuts easily with a sharp stanley knife and the ends don't flare out which makes it extremely simple to get into the fitting.

I bought this small pan brake the other day to help with making small sheetmetal pieces. I should have got one years ago, as it's already proved very handy. Need a bit of practice though!
