RS Motorsport :: Classic Speed Restored

G'day Fellas,
Thought I would finally post a few pics of my esky before it changes too much. Picked up this RS from a friend of a friend who was getting rid of it because it had a hit up the left rear. It allready has had a lot of work done just not thought out all that well. so mainly (after fixing the arse end) it just needs sorting out but still a good buy for a grand.


Its hard to tell in the pic but all the engine bay has been filled and smoothed and looks pretty good. (just gotta get rid of that blue
)

Interior is pretty standard and looks like maybe has been retrimmed at some stage, but atleast it was in a std theme (appart from the blue and the extra gauges that will be going soon)

Best thing about this car is after getting it home I found reciepts just for the twin 40's totalling $700 aswell as the original hand book!!! It was sold at Keidon Ford (VIC) on the 30/5/80 and it took untill 8/7/81 to rack up 1572k's for its first service which may explain why I can not find any rust in the old girl at all.
I will post some more pics soon as I have a lot of subtle yet big changes planned mainly for the engine bay which should have a lot of people wondering what happened.
I also need the services of a mobile pannel beater to smooth a few little bits out if anyone knows of any one on the southside of brissy that they can reccomend.
Late addition :- just picked up a ellsinger alloy rocker cover from the states to go on the beast.

Hi Matt, welcome. I'm just down the road from you in Greenbank. My mates and I used to use the spring mountain estate area for a spot of 'testing' quite a few years ago.

From experience, Get rid of those air cleaners and the exhaust wrap and possibly the alloy rocker cover if you don't like oil leaks.

PS, I almost bought one of those Husqvarnas a couple of weeks ago. Be careful, if you've got the one with the single bar blade cutters they don't stand up too well to running into things, they shatter the blade carrier bearing housings. You can get a disc conversion for them with swing-back blades if your land is pretty rough.

The pics of the engine are as I got it home so a lot will change including the aircleaners and exhaust. I build custom exhaust for a living so it will all be thrown and will be HPC coated. Also if anyone out there needs some exhaust work I am curently workshop manager for a place that makes custom stainless exhaust, including the mufflers from scratch so drop me a line. If I cant help I will know someone who can.
( The husky is a champion... My block (just over an acre) is mostly rock and I have never had a problem with it )
