Look what got delivered to the door today!!!
This is the new project car for me and my twin 15 year old boys
78 2litre Ghia for $2800.00. The only non-standard bit I can find is a set of Extractors
As we will be doing some Club Level motorsport (motorkhanas etc) it won't be staying standard.
If anyone is restoring a Ghia, I have some really good bits.

Nice pick up there Gary,
I would have loved to have got a hold of that thing, but my escort has been taking all of my money so I haven't had any spare!

Danny
As it seems that you are not going to shut up about this, here are a few facts.
The day after we sold Catrin's Echo I found out that I was losing the Company Car ( they also retrenched 3 people). The money from the sale of Catrin's Car doesn't belong to ME, it has to benefit the family.
So......I now need a car to drive to work every day. So.....I want to make the car a half reasonable thing to drive EVERY day!! Catrin is going to Uni this year (as you know) So I will be the only one with a (now precarious) full time income.
I have had to replace the front discs and wheel bearings on the Race car, so that is about all I will be spending on it this year (unless something goes wrong) and whatever entry fees I can justify!!
The main reason that we originally wanted another Escort was that we both believe that we have a responsibility to teach the boys some car control skills before they hit the road. This concept obviously does not compute!!
With some basic modifications we can make it into a car that will be good fun for us to do some more VERY CHEAP events (in tough times) as a family whilst getting the boys some driving experience before they get their Learners Permits in November.
I know that this will just go in one ear and out the other but......I feel better!!!

Gary, all I have to say is Touchee...
I have 2 stock discs and wheels bearings here if you want them. Disks are as new, bearings brand new.
No moola required.

Thanks Mark
I'll keep that in mind once the Roadworthy report is done. I'm told that it shouldn't be a problem though........

The Echo might have been worth keeping as it would have been cheaper to run for the next twelve months and more reliable

That is exactly what I would have done if I hadn't sold it the DAY BEFORE!
Good old "Murphy" at work again
