Thought it about time that I post a few details on the Sierra. Spent a bit of time on it recently so has added some ethusiasm.

Car started like this - 60kmiles been in Aussie since 95 - perfect interior - stage 3 stuff.

Image

Pulled it all apart and started a cage for it.

Not finished yet as I have to add more bars on strut tops and plenty more gussetts. And do the seat mounts.

Then this I made for a friend - making mine next.

Image

8.8 mustang irs with adjustable camber/toe.

Image

Image

TKO 600 with modified standard bellhousing.

Image

Made some centrelock adaptors.

Image

Image

And some brakes.

More pics to come soon as I will be starting to assemble it soon.

Got loads of parts for it - some more pics to follow.

Updates!

Made a mount plate for the pedal box.

Image

Image

Image

Got some nice electrics to wire up. Motec SDL and PDM30, Pectel T2. Started a massive electrical box behind dash to house it all. Then got some loom material.

Made some seat mounts. These were a bugger to fit because of the interior cross member that the sierra has.

NEEDS TO BE FINISHED THIS YEAR - GIVE ME @#$% IF IT IS NOT.

Looking great Lincoln. It's about time someone built up a Cossie for club motorsport! You will have to bring it up to sunny Queensland for a steak and one of our local events!!

Mounted the dry sump pump. Made this so it's low and forward so I could fit the power steering pump to the rear of the dry sump pump. Ended up struggling so will have to buy a group a style engine mount kit with straight arms.

Image

Had to machine deeply into the standard power steering mounting to get the pump in close.

Image

Power take off to mount power steering pump. Going to use a HD KSE pump as it is only 73mm thick.

Spigoted an adaptor onto the aux pulley driven by 3 solid dowells. Got a 50% crank pulley set and a %54 crank pulley set to try.

Engine is close. Have done the mountune oil squirters, deck height, solid lifters, cc and compression ratio and valve reliefs.

Got 7.4:1 with little piston machining so pretty happy.

Lincoln before you get too carried away mount a set of belts up on the crank to water pump and the pump belts and make sure they all clear as I found with that diameter on the auxilliary they didn't clear
Also make sure you can get a pump belt to work with the bracket as I run a 480 as the next size up was too big with the small pulleys

Ok got the car ready for painting today and was all set to send the creative carbon bonnet (weighs 6kgs) off to get painted white on top but hit a bit of a stumbling block when i fitted it.... and it looked awesome.

The weave does not come out much in the photo's

Milestone - painted the inside/engine bay and carbon bonnet. Turned out that the closest colour to the original diamond white (now faded) was a TOYOTA colour exactly. WOW.

I guess I am at the bottom of the project - onwards and upwards!

Some people may not like this but I have been scrubbing and prepping the whole underneath of the car - took ages (24hrs total I reacon) and got it cleaned all up. However instead of white that I have to keep clean I used a satin black solvent based stone guard. The whole underneath is satin black and I think it looks The stone guard remains flexible whilst still being tough.

Also fitted the front suspension and some of the rear (still need to fit rear gpa ARB). Some may not like the colour combo but sick of all black and white and wanted something to offset all the braided fittings coming. The whole car is being assembled from new cap head socket screws - incl. new arp cromo studs fitted in the hubs

Offset engine mounting to fit a big driver.

Extractors and muffler.

Wide track suspension arms.

Coilovers.

So many detail bits and pieces....
