Thought I would post some pictures of the Mk2 I am building, is being built to the latest tarmac regulations hope to also sprint/hillclimb the car as improved production car in the future. This car was actually last driven at Grafton Hillclimb by my brother and father when it was zetec powered in 1998. The Mk1 is my brothers group Nc Twin cam pictured at PI in February.

Alloy tarmac arches? thats what i want to fit to my project also. Did you fit them yourself?

Fitted by my brother and old school panel beater. Easier than the bubbles on the Mk1. To be honest I think I like the shape of the Mk1 with bubble arches more but the car has history in my family and couldn't have seen it go to the crusher which is where it was headed. Also got the alloy front and rear spoiler.

I think mk2 2doors are kinda scarce. Keep up the good work! Any pics with the F/R spoilers fitted?

Nice looking Mk1. :grin:

Will you be able to get your seats back far enough with the roll cage hoop in that position?

Haven't got any of the front spoiler on. And haven't fitted the rear spoiler yet. I think it will be one of the last things I do before paint. It is identical in shape to the rubber spoiler except made out of thin alloy. Lighter and has sharper edges as well which I like.

Cam, I don't think the photo does the hoop location justice. It lands where the vertical rear seat stay is (which was cut away around the tower which the hoop lands on). Both myself and my brother are quite tall, currently working on bringing the steering column back.

Progress has been super slow, but is getting there, a lot of work can't be seen in photo, will come together quickly once painted. Now fitted with Duratec and currently having turbo manifolds fabricated.

No worries Paul as I'm sticking around for Sandown as a friends supplying a couple GT40's for it
Is the entry quality anything like P.I. as I asked about running hte Escort in Irregularities but they weren't keen

So turbo duratec is that a 2.0 or 2.3?
What gearbox you using behind it and are we going to see build info for the motor? Im suprised how much you fitted into the engine bay.
