RS Motorsport :: Classic Speed Restored

I have finally tracked down some shots of Tom Mc's yellow RS (I have to specify the colour, as he has owned 3!!!)

The car was built up by Craig Watson of "Four Plus Performance" in Melbourne in the early 90s with a Formula Pacific BDA installed and subsequently featured in "Fast Fours and Rotaries" magazine. When Tom purchased the car it was running a very nice torquey pinto with 38 Dgas Weber and RS exhaust manifold, Disc brake, limited slip rear end and Celica Steel case 5 speed. It was a lovely thing to drive. I should know, I drove it all the way back from Melbourne to Brisbane when he purchased it. But it was not really suited to the Roads of country NSW as a few things attempted to escape from the car on the trip back, including the entire exhaust system!!

The last thing I knew of the car it was owned by a young guy in Toowoomba who turbocharged the pinto and really looks after it.

I think i know of this car Was on show at the last gatton sprints, Very nice looking car! If it's definately the car, this is it's engine bay.

Yes, Travis that is definitely the car. It still looks really tidy I hope! The last time I saw it was at the "Show & Shine" at the 2003 Leyburn Sprints.

Yep, I know the car and its current owner quite well. He has had the car for some time now.. possibly ten years or more ?

and yep it has been in a few magazines of late and rarely sees the light of day, especially now that everyone up here is so afraid of the police and their new powers

To give you an idea of just how many kms this car has done (or hasn't done) since Kyle has taken ownership.. he had the tyres that were on the car when he bought it up until a year ago !

Geeeeez! And they were second hand tyres when I put them on!!!!!

It might have been two years ago now actually... he got a flat driving it back from cruisetime when it was at QR.. so I am pretty sure that wear wasn't even the reason they were replaced

They must have been Rock Hard with absolutely zero grip!!!

Now here are a couple of shots of Tom's 2nd RS2000. It is possible that he may have threatened to kill me if I ever posted these shots.......but at my age my memory isn't so good! I am sure he will remind me if I did anyway!!!
