That will look REALLY ordinary on the Focus RS, Marty!!!!!
All I could get in stock for the Ghia was Nankangs!! They are exciting in the wet!!!

The Escort not the Focus.
Will 15s fit standard MK2 Escort arches?

There isnt a lot still available in 205/60/13 but i think there are still Federal, Nankang, Falken etc in road tyres. If you are going to go up from 13's i would skip 14's and go straight to 15's. 14's look weird on Escorts, not sure why, they just look strange.
There is a world of tyre choice in 195/50/15 though. I had 15x7 super lights on my old red RS with 195/50/15 and had no issue with clearance on the front where as with 205/50/15 they rubbed at the back on full lock with the same rims. The back was no problem with 205's on under standard arches.

I have a set of 14's so I was wondering if they are worth keeping or do I keep my eyes open for a set of 15's.
With the larger diameter does it throw out the speedo much and if so can it be adjusted to display the correct speed or close to it?

Hey Marty. I have a set of 13'x6.5 Cheviot Turbo wheels with near new 205/60/13' Federal tyres. $200 for 4.
Personally, I like a 14' challenger wheel on a Esky.

yeah! when did 14's begin to look odd on a Mk1

However Im going 15's as there is a better range of available tyres compared to 14's Dont know about 13's but many swift guys are buying special 13 inch wheels to fit over brakes (GTi's came with 14's) so they can use 13 inch race rubber.

In my opinion 13's look better than 14's on a mk1. Especially with traditional 60 series tyres.
I reckon 15's for both look and tyre availability are the best option.

I would certainly like to go to 15's just for the tyre choice available. You can't get anything in "soft" in 13's or 14's.

You could always import them from the UK -
http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorspor ... 048-r-tyreIt works out around $600GBP or $950 AUD for a set of 4 a048's which may be a lot cheaper than here in Oz.
Cheers
Matt

The 50's are a lot better than the 48's. Hence lap records being broken in a lot of categories this year.

Yes Michael, very good reports about the 50's and the softs only start at 15" Even in the "control" compound guys are doing very good times even at 1 lap events!!

175/60 on 13x7 - and you don't even need TC guards

But you're right, tyre choice is limited
