The pommy version must have been very different as the Aussie standard Mark 2 specs were Front Track: 1270mm and Rear Track: 1296mm.

Dont push it too much,
but my first escort I did up when it went through inspection.
They asked me what the standard track was.
I just pointed at my wheels and said minus 20mm.
They passed it. That was with 235's on the back and 215 front.
They dont have the data for the old cars.

Well there you go I've learnt something new again today (just shows you can't be too old). I have never seen the X series before and didn't know they existed even after spending 12 months in the UK in the early 80's. Thanks for the photo Gary.

X is the unknown quantity.
I'm curious how the extra track was gained on that awful looking X series.
Anyone know?

I thought they went the wrong way with the Mk2 full stop.
Mk1 a la my old green GT1600 is the classic look.
