Hi All,

I have a set of alloy hubs that i am having a hell of a time getting the wheel bearing cups into. Saying that, i have managed to get the small cup in OK, but the larger one is in half way and no more...

Yes, i have a F#$%&* Big Hammer that has destoyed 4 punches so i was wondering if someone has had these pressed in before? Do normal tyre places like Bob Jane do this? Any help appreciated...

try putting the hubs in the fridge/freezer then put the bearing cups in an oven about med to hot
hey presto !!
dont use a press if you can help it - too easy to damage them

oops i meant the other way round HUBS in oven to expand them & bearing caps in fridge to shrink

A bit late but it's done at least
I have to go in this week sometime and press the shells into my rear hubs now

Hang on, I thought you said it was easy, and there was no need for all that? :grin:

Anyway, Dean still recommended the Freezer/Oven scenario as suggested above if anyone has the same issue. Thanks to all for their suggestions...
