Spring Rates

When I put my tarmac rally Mk1 Escort together I decided on springs rated to 275lb fronts and 180lb rears based on advice from the supplier and this forum. I use a thick front sway bar but no rear and get quite a reasonable amount of roll - it handles fantastic in the wet however!
I am thinking of changing to 375lb front and 225lb rears as a dry setup for tarmac rally. Any thoughts??
(Pinto anchor up front and hilux anchor at rear!)

I have the same set up as you currently and am thinking of trying 450lb springs. It's for a track car though.
As modern tyres have more grip, springs rates can be much higher than that in the past I've been led to believe.
Cheers
Matt

In my car I'm only using a 325lb front spring but I've got MCA's which do a real good job of controlling them and I use A050's or Z214 Hankook's which have a much stiffer side wall again and I would not contemplate 375's.
With rears is it using all it's travel and killing the bumpstops

I dont think the rear is hitting the bumpstops. The car has terrible roll front and rear which is what has caused me to look at this change. The car handles fantastic in the wet but my next event will be dry and hot. I have bottomed out the front cross member once or twice as it has some deep marks.
