RS Motorsport :: Classic Speed Restored

Has anyone used either of these brand of control arm/ball joint/bush kits?

I am only interested in these because as much as i want to do a good job of restoring my car, I am on a tight budget, as i don't earn much at work. I was going to buy these from Yesterford but at $95 i am dreading purchasing them.

I have always had better life from arms similar to the original ford items. I've got a set of these at the moment but haven't started using them yet so I can't say if they're good or bad.

Bought a set of these in a late night fit of madness last year



Rough does not come even close to describe the 'quality' of these - I will not put them near my car, seriously nasty bit of kit. Paperweights taking up room in my shed, will bin them next time I get in there.


I waited a few months and got a set off Smcka when his last shipment came in -



very happy with them, IMHO definately worth more than the asking price and great service to boot.

I've enquired about the first arms myself as the part numbers are the same as TRW, but they are a Japanese brand, and when I asked if they were heavy duty he replied 'no'. I didn't buy a pair but the Japanese don't normally make poor quailty stuff. (edit-refer previous post regarding quality of these)

The second ones are a Taiwanese brand which should only last as long as the 12mth warranty, which was my experience with them on a road car I drove to Melbourne and back.

And Scott's ones don't have a brand name, but I thought the company selling this reproduction style was Rally Design.........

Looks like the same picture to me, so will be interesting to see what Scott thinks of them and how long they last?

ok thanks guys for the info. I was originally looking at the ones from YesterFord for $90 each, so hence i went looking for cheaper options.

when it comes to control arms cheaper is not necessarily more economical. same can be said for lots of things really...
