called a mob called threadtech. they used a small drilling device to drill down the stud through the nut (as i had already taken the top of the nuts off to access the studs) until the stud was down to nothing and the nut fell off.

the flanges for two of the studs are smooth and bare; the studs spin freely within them. the hub will certainly need to be replaced. nev, i will send you a private message regarding this.

oh one thing i forgot. the bloke from threadtech suggested the nuts on the wheels aren't the right size and additionally, they've been jammed on without any washers.

this would probably be due to the previous owner replacing aftermarket ones he had on the car, with the originals before he sold the car to me. and i'm guessing he's used the same nuts from the aftermarket wheels.

i was aware they needed washers, but does anyone know the correct dimensions for the nuts? i'm going to get a hold of nuts and washers for all four wheels very shortly.

The hubs can be saved, Re drill each hole to accept a larger stud, I used EB falcon rears

they needed a spacer but wasa going to use one anyway, however there are many studs on the market and it should be an easy task to upgrade to longer/larger studs and save the hubs
