Hi Guys,

When the MK1 Escorts left the factory, would the indicators automatically turn off once the steering wheel returned to centre after making a turn? Or did that feature not exist yet? My car has always had aftermarket steering wheel and boss kit and it doesn't turn the indicators off. I've had a couple of pensioner moments where I drive around everywhere with the indicators on. Before I waste any time trying to resolve the issue, I thought I better check the car actually did have that feature to begin with.

Yes they had an auto cancel feature.

I had the same issue when I got mine lisensed not long ago. There is a small plastic cam on a sleeve behind the steering wheel. If you get stuck I can send you a photo of one. Otherwise I can get the details of a guy in NSW who was able to supply a new one
