Aftermarket seats

Hi all,
The seats in my RS2000 need recovering and the foam is pretty shot, so I thought it would be cheaper to get seats from somewhere else. I saw at autobarn a range of seats, Monza, SAAS etc, Most around $350 -$450 a seat and pretty comfy/supportive.
Are these ADR approved and as such, legal to bolt in or is it a bit more compilcated than that? I noticed they seem a bit wider than the factory scheel's and Im also wondering how people have attache these. Do you mount the new seat to the escorts seat rails? Does this need engineering approval in NSW. Ive heard of people using cordia turbo seats and MX5 seats but if they have to be recovered its not worth it and Im better off repairing mine. Its mainly a cost issue as to swap/replacement rather than repair
Cheers
Shep

Depends what you want to do with the car. For road use I'd get the originals rebuilt or go to a wreckers and get a set out of a modern car. Check with someone who can approve the mod (seat replacement is one of the most basic) and get advice from them on what is legally required.
