I have beta cloth in my MK1 Rs2000, and (enough spare for a retrim) and it is a sort of black velour with embossed rectangles in it (if that makes sense)
There is also 2 other very similar materials, one has squares, and the other just has lines (like cords) but they are trhe same base velour just different patterning.

The replacement Beta material sold in the UK is not original, it is a remanufactured cloth using slightly different techniques, it looks good, but isn't quite perfect, the texture is different, not bad but not quite perfect.

I heard a rumour years ago Andrew Cavelli (ie. QuickCo) bought the last roll of material from Scheel for the Australian RS seats, you may want to chat to him aswell as he may still have some.
