Anyone know where I can get a HD Quaife Rocket box rebuilt in SE QLD? Eurospeed won't touch these anymore.

How much of a rebuild does it need?
I have drawings and specs for the HD quaife rocket box if that's any help.

Steve,
3rd gear is crunching a bit so I reckon a synchro otherwise I just change all the gaskets and seals to fix the leaks in the nose....

If you want to learn to rebuild gearbox's, the Type E or similar Ford box is where you start. Quite a simple build, but don't try to take shortcuts!

Just for anyone's info. During the build I had Steel Baulk rings fitted and its just taken three khanacrosses and an hour in the garage on stands running the car and changing gear like a lunatic to get it to wear in especially changing down from 3rd or 4th to 2nd.
If you do come across this, the gearbox isn't broke its just needs a lot of 'giving it to her'! Got cramp in me wrist now!

I was warned off steel baulk rings when I was building my 4 speed. The thing is what have you actually "worn in", the very expensive steel baulk rings or the very expensive synchro hubs?
