Just in the process of bolting the engine (pinto) to the gearbox with an alloy bellhousing and noticed that it does not have a have a spacer for the clutch fork only a pin pressed into there .It measures up the same as a standard bellhousing ,The fork i got with it is the same as a standard one.Is there a different fork for an alloy bellhousing or do i tap a thread where the pin was and run the spacer?

There is a different fork for an alloy bellhousing but it's mainly different in the shape of the end where the cable goes. As for the spacer, you do not need it. The "height" of the flat section where the fork sits is right for a 2L clutch.
I've both forks in the shed so will take a comparitive photo for you tomorrow.
