Looking for a pair of new (or VERY decent condition used) Mk1 Escort front indicator assemblies. Trawled through the net and it doesn't appear these are being re-produced by anybody??

NOS is silly priced for a rally car....

Have pulled the originals apart but don't seem to be able to clean them well enough to guarantee 100% operation.

I could be wrong here, but I thought the Uk ones were different to the "hella" ones we have, and further to that I thought there were early and late style ones, both with different mountings.

Like I said I don't know where i have got that from, but its in my head for some reason. I certainly know I bought lenses at some stage and they had the wrong bolt spacing despite being the right shape.

Anyone confirm??? i'm keen to know for sure too.

We ended up with two types. The lense fits differently but the whole assembly goes in the panel the same.

Cheers. Given the cost of the repro items I am going to have a go at mounting some replacement bulb holders ($12) in the original housings. Found some with the same diameter so should fit like new. If it fails then it's off to eBay

Make sure you get a good ground connection on that bulb holder.

The other option is to fit the Hillman Imp style indicator/side lights which the works teams used in the day:

Think they need the holes in the front panel made bigger?

The bulb holders I am going to try and 2 wire so a ground will be easy. I can therefore use any material to bond them in
