RS Motorsport :: Classic Speed Restored

Still a couple of months away from paint, but almost 12 months after starting my project mk1, I cant settle on a colour scheme.
Really open minded so any suggestions will be considered, otherwise my main thought is a new vw beetle metallic beige with a custom printed satin black mexico stripe kit.
Its standard bodied (no big arches) and will be running wide steelies, and a set of XYGT wing mirrors with a round headlight conversion.
Also like the new Ford Bionic Blue in an RS2000 paint job, but there are plenty of blue mk1's around, Wild Violet???

Metallic Beige.............I can't picture that

Seen a Wild Violet Mk 1 that looked good. It really comes back to what colours you like. No matter what colour you choose if its a cr@p paint job you won't do it any justice

Personally I love Blue Mink on an unarched Mk1 (it's a very light siver blue).

There are plenty of similar modern colours around on Nissans and Toyotas - but it looks much better on an Escort!

wild violet, zircon green...any those 70's colours with a gold mexico kit for me.
but then I'm an old bloke who reckions period colours ar the only colour for classic cars

I must be old like Ted, I prefer 70's colours on Mk1's. Although I would like to see one in the metallic orange that's on XR5's.
