RS Motorsport :: Classic Speed Restored

some of you may have seen this on the other escort forum but i thought id share this with you.

well after buying my car some 3 years back and restoring it. regestering it and getting it running really sweet it all came undone in a heartbeat today on the way home. i smelt fuel and a few seconds later the engine cut out, then it lit up.

by the time i stopped and got out she was well and truely alight. some kind person come out with a fire extingusher but it was too late. it didn't do a thing. i tried to put it out myself but it was too hot. all i could do was watch 3 years, countless hours and money dissapear in front of my eyes. absoultuly gut wrenching.

it hurts soo much. it was my first car and i loved it so much. just a pleasure to drive no matter how you drove it. im sooheartbroken

yes it was fully insured and when the money comes thru i will be looking at a nice 2 door ive had my eye on.

i bought one of the 4 doors in the for sale section today just as a runaround to get me to work and back


this was my pride and joy though. my first car and my first project. it suck to see it gone

Mate, I feel for you its never happened to me and cant imagine it. chin up and hope it gets better, can never replace your first love but look to the future.

Gutting.

Any Idea of the cause or is it all melted under there?

i havnt had a good look at the car as its with the insurance people getting looked over but i suspect the brass fitting in the webber has come out. dont know for sure
