RS Motorsport :: Classic Speed Restored

Has anyone done this the capri (fits along the back of rear seat in the boot) fuel tank into an escort.
Just looking for a way to increase the fuel capacity a bit and wondering if it will fit or not. I believe its about 15-20L increase in fuel not sure.

I've done it to my race car, not to increase the fuel load but to centre the weight. A few of our members have done the same thing. It's easy to do, just make up 2 brackets to mount it on and it's in. The only hard thing is how your going to fill it, from the boot or custom filler from outside.

I think this is a capri tank (Or a Datsun ), but you get the idea:

I've increased the capacity by making the tank 100mm wider. Easy to do, fits well, don't loose much boot space

how much did you gain by doing that?

I'm guessing between 15 and 20 ltrs, strap is a special I had made so that the tank can be removed for filling. Saves taking car to servo
