does any one know where I can get an electronic ignition
I have a 1600 kent motor with a bosch distibutor
I am after the type that replace the points only and have no box etc outside the distributor
I have contacted a couple of places but they need to know the part number of the distributor
does anyone know the part number for the 1600 bosch distributor
or what other cars this distributor was used on?
this distributor was only used on the late model mk2 1600
i am fairly sure it is the reverse direction to the pinto

Just purchased a "Hot Spark" from the US $63.82, received it yesterday. is a similar arrangement to the Pertrinix Ignitor, haven't installed yet so can't give an opinion of how well it works

thanks
but the pinto dizzy spins the opposite way to the kent motor

I think a pertronix is the only option

John,
is that MSD as in the (big) electronic boxes for Multiple Spark Discharge?
If so which type?
Can you post or email the connection diagram?
The electronic systems from MSD I have used need a "sensor" type input signal like a Hallsensor or points. Can imagine that a poweroutput like the Hotspark isn't compatible with the MSD.
Regards, Leon.

Yes, I'm using a Multiple Spark Discharge, MSD Blaster ignition the Hot Spark connection diagram can be downloaded from their site, see the URL below. As I said in my earlier post I am yet to get it to function connected as shown in their diagram.
