That dirty 'C' Word.
I believe the impellor is cast rather than folded metal and the one I have here it feels heavier that the pinto one, perhaps the bearings are bigger too or the cast impellor is much heavier.

C words are alloy housing.
Genuine ford or re manufactured are cast iron housing.
Both have full impeller.

I have it on good authority that the pinto water pump runs out of puff and cavitates above 5000rpm. I don't have any info on the YB pump other than the impeller pumps more coolant around to suit the turbo temperatures.
Does anyone know what the best solution for a YB NA Cosworth would be? I already run a 3 core radiator with longer hoses so I have extra coolant by default. I also haven't had any temp problems at Mallala or Collingrove. But for an engine that spends most of its run time above 5000rpm perhaps some testing or further research could be worthwhile. From what I've heard cavitation and alloy heads don't get on!!!
