Guys, I am having an issue on my Anglia trying to get any Fuel Pressure.
I have 2 Red Top "Works" Facet Fuel Pumps 5 PSI linked together but only running the one. The other is a backup pump only. The Fuel leaves the swirlpot at the tank via -6 stainless braided lines. It goes to the 2 Pre Filters and then into the Pumps. From the Pumps it goes directly to the webers.
From the webers it returns to the Holley Regulator "IN" connection before going through the "OUT" port back to the fuel tank.
I have the Pressure Gauge on the "IN" port at the Holley regulator.
I have replaced both the Gauge (Oil Filled Face) and the Regulator even though they are both brand new to start with.
The adjustment on the Regulator is via a screw at the top that is adjusted in for more pressure. No matter what way it is screwed there is no Pressure registering on the Gauge. I have even swopped the IN and OUT lines but it makes no difference.
Any ideas guys would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Rob
Ya Goose The Holley Red regulator needs to go before the Webers as they aren't designed for the return Also if you fitted a decent fuel pump instead of the pommie crap you'd only need one!
Danny those Facet Pumps aren't pommie they are made in the USA The details supplied with the Holley reg show the reg fitted between the pump and the carby on a single feed line On a double carby it clears shows the reg fitted between the last carby and the fuel tank on the return line
I assume you are 100% sure you are using the bypass version of the regulator? there are two versions of that one and only the BP one will work between the carbs and the tank.
Secondly you say you have the return line connected to the 'out' port. If I remember correctly, on the BP style regulater there is a port marked 'return' or just 'ret'. The out port should supply the carbs if used before them, or can take a pressure gauge if used after.
The pressure gauges fail very regularly so even though you have tried two, maybe you have just been very unlucky??
Hope that's helps some, it's all from memory from some time ago without seeing exactly what you have we are all just speculating a bit.
Thanks guys I have tried the reg on both the feed line going from the pumps to the carbies and also from the carbies to the tank return No reading either way I will check but i think the reg has only an IN and 2 OUT ports Cheers Rob
Robin for sidedraughts you run both the outlets with one to each carburettor Try disconnecting one of the pumps. Are you using a hand held pressure gauge or one mounted off the regulator Ring me if you want
