Hi All,
About to upgrade my Mk1 front brakes to Skyline R32 Turbo 4 spot calipers, currently using Mk2 2 litre front struts and spaced standard calipers with vented rotors. What rotors would you recommend, I am going to upgrade to 15 x7 wheels, calipers are capable of taking 30mm rotors. Any info, pic's would be great, anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Hello John
Have you read these two threads ?
http://www.rsmotorsport.com.au/forums/v ... php?t=1314
http://www.rsmotorsport.com.au/forums/v ... php?t=2213
So you can see there is a 26mm version and 30mm version. 26mm would work with something like a WRX DBA 5000 series rotor.
I've progressed to a couple poxster callipers and still have the 26mm skyline callipers and if your interested I would sell them for what they owe me.

Thanks John & Paul. I have read those threads and they are certainly helpful although they didn't specify a particular rotor.
John, thanks for the offer but I have already purchase calipers from good ol ebay. The drawing in your post titled "Hydraulic Hinge", is this the adaptor bracket you were using?? Do you still have the brackets you fabricated, would be interested in these if you still have them.

John,
Yeah mine are off febay too and will return to febay eventually.
Hydraulic Hinge is a reference to the way the caliper halves are bolted together . Under brakes the pistons try to split the halves apart and the halve bolts resist that. How well they resist that depends a nuber of things including where the bolts holding the halves together are. The halves will act a bit like a hinge if the caliper design is poor.
Adapter brackets are a different thing entirely. I didn't get to the stage of designing adapter brackets before going in the poxster direction.

Thanks for that, that certainly makes a lot of sense. Did you get to fit a actual rotor to your setup or only get as far as the mock upi stage you show in the pic's??
