ADR approved stainless braided lines, so good for rego requirements, don't think you need ADr lines for clutch though.

I have been making my own lines for many years, plus making them for my customers, never had a failure yet.

If you have to get ADR approved lines as the only way to get your car legal, then there arent many options,
my problem with them is not one of quality (never checked them out properly) but I have an issue with the prices charged for them, and the bull-poo when people tell you others are unsafe if they dont have ADR approval

But all over the world there are countless numbers of cars running around with brake lines that don't have ADR approval, are Australians the only people with safe cars?? Do people really believe that Australia is the only country in the world with decent automotive safety standards??

For a vehicle to be legally road registered the brake lines have to comply with an Australian Design Rule.

Bottom line is liability, defect notice / fine and insurance companies squirming out of coverage when it counts.

Seems straight forward enough to me. If road registered then why accept the liability when simply buying the tested and approved line makes it someone elses problem. For track only, do whatever grabs you.

We got talking about his business and he advised me of all the goverment crap he had to go through to get everything Approved, what made it worse was he needed Approval from all states in Australia (Federal). Basically every brake hose he makes gets tested to 3000psi then he can stamp his manufacture date, code e.t.c into it.

After talking to him for 10 minutes you feel pretty safe that his ADR stuff will pass the test...

Out of interest, some are saying the made up lines are eg ADR approved are dear [ I reckon I got quoted $90 a line]

The hoses I made up for pedal box were 4 of @ approx $310. [from memory]

Now I kept the adaptors to minimum but to do them to suit a road car, will need adaptors at least at one end so the price will spiral, up ward.

So whats the gain ?

Got my Goodridge from Rally Design, ordered on a Monday, think i had them on a Friday... less than $100 landed from the UK. I hear some people call them crap and i have to say they are better than the standard rubber and even they lasted 20 years. Anyway, they've been on a couple of years now, no probs...

All this talk about ADR lines vs non ADR Lines and good quality makes me nervous. So I made up some hard lines from the pedal box to the front and rear brakes.
