Here is image of Drum braked MC.

It was difficult to find one.

That one had a reasonable bore and res was in exceptional condition.

However,

I was using this for quite awhile.
It is a stepped bore ....memory little hazey.....0.7 & 0.75 eg two sizes in master and a step half way down etc.

It was off a MK1 Capri.
It looks like this.



It is easily identified by double section, height, in body.
It has different sized threads, front to rear for brake pipes.

The angled res is a pain but i overcame this by using a vent tube curled up.

Dan always spoke of using a Datsun 120 y unit.
But i have no details of this fitment

My old eski was a drum brake model (mk1 1300 4dr), and I changed this to disks, and eventually put austin princess 4pots on. the orig unboosted master cylander coped well, it was quite firm but I never had any problems with it.

Here are bore sizes etc.

Some of the Mk2 stuff is even bigger.

The Datsun sizes...............



U will need a 17 mm bore so an early 120 y is the go.

I believe these have the size on the side of cylinder.

Obviously u will need to adapt this to an escort, where as a Capri one nearly bolts straight on and push rod needs moding etc

Looks like the Datto is the go as PBR still show it as being available new and i think a 17mm bore will give me a reasonable feel

If not the search begins for either of the Ford units
