How much weight can be saved in a Mk1 by replacing all that can be replaced with available fibre glass panels?
Doors, front Guards, Bonnet, Boot, front and rear bumpers and side and rear glass with perspex.
Has anyone done it all and can say it saved 50, 75 or 100Kgs?

bonnet Fibre 6Kg - Steel 14kg
Boot Fibre 4.6 kg - Steel 9kg
Door Fibre 10Kg - Steel 20kg
Arches Fibre 2.5 Kg - Steel 4kg
So looks like about 35.5 Kg available with fibre panels bigger saving with carbon versions but the cost is significantly higher
Smith Deakin list the above parts at £880. Quite steep for a circa 4% weight saving
add lexan and its a grand cost plus paint and maybe 50kg saved or 5.5% weight saving.
its probably a fast enough car without the extra effort and cost.

The body shell is roughly a couple hundred kg. Skews the % a bit.

What thickness are those glass panels though? IIRC the CAMS regs require quite thick fibreglass/composite panels.
