HI All
Restoring a 72 Mk1 with a little rust in roof drip rails etc...
Is there any one from the Brisbane area that could give some advice on the Mk1's etc?
Car is going to be restored to street/Sprints.
Body- not sure whether to go bubble arches or standard(did see some nice flared at Leyburn)
Currently has a 1600 xflow in it- thinking 2ltr Pinto..(could develop 1600).
Just a general chat on things would help much appreciated.
Greg-

Hi Greg, here's some pics of mine from today, the flares are just Mk2 Escort guard 'eyebrows' grafted onto the Mk1 guards. It gives about 20mm extra per side.

Drop into the hillclimb at Mt Cotton next Saturday/Sunday if you want to have a chat and a closer look.

Welcome, there are a few of us on here with mk1's around brisbane. no shortage of diverse opinions. Competition events are a good place to find some of us. The all ford day next month is another, with more than just us RSM'ers.
Have a look through the project cars section on here too.
I'd discard the old pushrod donk for something newer.
Twin cam guards, arches or flares will allow some bigger boots. Have a look round for tyre choices in 13" and larger to decide what wheel size you want to fit under the guards.

HI all
Thanks all for you feedback cheers!
I'll probably stick to all ford components etc...
Thought I,d see if any one with a pinto set up around brizzy would be willing to check out there setup and discuss ideas.
I'll post some pics when I pick up this week.
thanks

Hi all I'm a noob too and live on Bribie island just north of brisbane
I have a 1971 2 door with a 2l pinto and a 5 speed type 9 gearbox.
Is there anyone north of brisbane that peoe could recommend for a bit of rust repair for gutters and the panel that the boot hinges bolt to.
Any help would be appricated ;)
