Hi guys,

Am looking for a rear spoiler for my car. Am interested in a good fitting, well made product rather than the cheapest (unless the best one is the cheapest!).

Would love a carbon one , if anyone has a spare (wishful thinking!).

Are you looking for fibreglass version of the factory rubber spoiler or something a bit more modern?

Daz - how much was the CF one landed? I see they are £135 before postage. UK has most expensive post ever!

Danny - that was my plan. I sourced one but it is so poor fitting that I can't possibly fit it to the car. Where did you source yours from?

Mike Conway had it and it was cheap so I grabbed it but I had a guy who makes alloy sports and race car bodies to make a frame underneath to mount it the same as a standard spoiler and he also made it so I can bolt a Gurney Flap on the back, but I've had to have a couple of goes at the ends as it does have the same radius as the corners but I've just about got it now

Thanks Danny, sounds like the one that I have. A guy had a go at the ends but would need another go/goes. Good idea about the inner bracket.

Dan do you think you could fit a gurney flap to the CF one?

The carbon fibre one by custom carbon.

It's could be done but it wouldn't be as straight forward and you may stuff it's finish but Steve King would be the beset one to answer that as I used the alloy one as it was relatively straight forward needing nutserts in the rear edge and the mounting frame and a coat of 2 pack satin black

ive just done some mk1 & 2 carbon fibre bumperettes
equal to the custom carbon ones
without the huge freight cost from uk

Hi Crusey, I have a mould for a mk2 rear spoiler that I made back in the 80's that is the same as an original but has an extended blade but with work and play commitments I dont have the time to make a spoiler. The mould was made for a friend of mine who was a designer from Ford Broadmeadows who rallied a mk2 back then. The story goes that he got a spoiler from Ford uk works department that had been developed to provide more down force than the original. He asked me to take a mould off that and a few other bits and pieces so I could make replacements for him if needed. I used to make a lot of panels and bits and pieces back then. Most of the other moulds have been lost or discarded over the years but I hung on to the spoiler for some reason. If you can find someone to make one [without destroying the mould] we can come to some arrangement. Call me on 0418 539 861 if you like.

Thanks Gary, I was actually chasing a pic of the carbon one. Mine's def the same as Danny's. It's all food for thought so thanks for posting.
